Scarborough Centre for Healthy Communities (SCHC) is an accredited comprehensive community health organization that delivers a range of holistic health and wellness services from early years to the end of life.
We are dedicated to meeting these health needs by addressing our population’s physical, mental, social, financial and environmental aspects through our community health, engagement and support services teams.
SCHC employs over 300 staff, engages more than 160 volunteers, and delivers over 50 integrated services across 12 sites.

The Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence Care Centre at SCHC offers free, confidential, trauma-specific individual and group counselling for anyone over the age of 12 who has experienced sexual assault, domestic violence, childhood sexual abuse, or any combination thereof. Counsellors are registered social workers and female-identifying, and provide therapeutic, trauma-informed clinical support for up to 12 sessions.

We bridge the gap between regulated health professionals, support workers, and caregivers by providing personalized support services for clients recovering from motor vehicle accidents (MVA) and work-related injuries and high-quality training to professionals.

We work closely with occupational therapists, physiotherapists, and other professionals, as well as insurance companies, legal teams, and case managers, to ensure a comprehensive, client-centered approach to rehabilitation.

In addition to direct client services, we offer specialized Rehabilitation Support Professional (RSP) training and certification, equipping professionals with essential skills in task delegation, effective collaboration, and comprehensive documentation. Our courses are designed to ensure rehabilitation support professionals are well-prepared to provide high-quality client care.
