Traverse Independence
Traverse Independence supports individuals over the age of 16 who have sustained an acquired brain injuries (ABI) and/or who have physical disabilities. Our programs are dedicated to maximizing our clients’ abilities to live independently and to support them on their journey of growth. Most of our services are free and funded by the Ministry of Health. Our ABI programs include:
- Transitional Living Program, which supports individuals to gain the skills of independent living. This program provides access to 24/7 supervision and support, in apartments in Kitchener and Fergus ON
- A shared living Group Home in Kitchener for six individuals
- A Day Program in Kitchener to connect and empower adults who have an ABI in a supportive, social environment
- Outreach services in your home or place of residence in Waterloo Region and Wellington County
- Shared Affordable Housing for people with an ABI located in Waterloo
- Intensive Case Coordination for clients with significant and complex barriers, access to clinical and behavioural supports
- ABI training to professionals in the not-for-profit sector
- ABI In the Streets Outreach Program. This program provides support to individuals who are currently experiencing homelessness, or unstable housing
- A free caregiver support program under the supervision of a clinical psychologist

Moore MyoWorx
Moore MyoWorx is a research-based clinic that is always focused on finding the most effective ways to treat our patients. We treat a variety of conditions such as concussions, arthritis, migraines, MS, and sciatica. Patients come from all over the world to experience our one-of-a-kind approach, MyoWorx® Myofascial Treatment, developed by our president and CEO, Terry Moore. MyoWorx® was originally developed to treat concussion symptoms, but the methodology applies to all the conditions we treat. The underlying principle of MyoWorx® Treatment is to treat the source of the problem and not just the symptoms. We develop and deliver therapeutic programs and other related counseling, information, group support programs, retreats and health support resources to individuals and/or loved ones of individuals who have experienced traumatic life loss, mental health issues, substance abuse and addiction issues, and/or acquired brain injury. We serve individuals, families, and caregivers.
Kootenay Brain Injury Association
Offering service that enable individuals and families living with the effects of acquired brain injury to enjoy & participate in life in their home & community. All services are cost-free and include: Individual and group support, skills-based workshops, counselling services, family support, advocacy, referral & connection services, prevention and education, volunteer programs.
Comox Valley Head Injury Society
CVHIS provides programs and support services to acquired brain injury survivors, their families and caregivers. We promote the health and well-being of our participants through advocacy, education, skill development, community re-integration, and we work to reduce incidences of brain injury in our community through prevention-based education. Most programming is free and includes Case Management, Counselling, Food and Healthy Eating supports, Peer Support, Life After Brain Injury workshops, Wellness Group Activities, music and art therapy and a Drop in program.
